Law Enforcement is at Atlantic City, NJ Mayor’s Home

On the same morning that serious criminal charges have been revealed against Atlantic City, New Jersey High School Principal Constance Days-Chapman … multiple Atlantic City Council Members have reported to me that there has been an active law enforcement presence at the home of Marty and La’Quetta Small today, Thursday, March 28, 2024.

Marty Small is the Mayor of Atlantic City, New Jersey and La’Quetta Small is the Superintendent of the Public Schools system in Atlantic City.

We have been advised and have photographic evidence that The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office is presently at the Small residence in Atlantic City.

The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office confirmed earlier today that Days-Chapman has been charged with the following:

• second-degree Official Misconduct.
• third-degree Hindering Apprehension of Another.
• fourth-degree Obstruction of Justice.
• disorderly persons Failure to Report Child Abuse.

The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that the charges were placed on a summons.

We have also confirmed that the streets near The Small residence are currently being blocked off by law enforcement.

The featured photograph above and directly below shows 6 law enforcement officers that are at the Small residence at this hour (11:00 a.m.).

The reason for their presence at the Small residence has not yet been publicly revealed.

We cannot reveal at this time why law enforcement is at the Small residence this morning.

Regarding the Days-Chapman serious criminal charges … we always operate under the premise that these are allegations and that a person is presumed to be innocent, until proven guilty.

However, if the Days-Chapman allegations are true, this is despicable public conduct.

If a Chief School Administrator received allegations from a student that they are the victim of physical and emotional abuse … and, if the school principal took no action … and, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office … they are alleging that the Atlantic City High School Principal went to the student’s parents to tell them that the child reported these allegations … this would be monstrous conduct by a public official.

Here is what the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office is alleging regarding Days-Chapman.

On January 22, 2024, a juvenile student at the high school informed a school staff member that the student had been emotionally and physically abused by the student's parents and that the student had previously disclosed this abuse to Mrs. Days-Chapman. The school staff member discussed the matter with Days-Chapman later that same day. Days-Chapman denied that the student ever disclosed the abuse to her previously but told the school staffer that she would report the matter to the Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCP&P, formerly known as DYFS). Both the staffer and another eyewitness to the conversation believed that Days-Chapman was going to notify the authorities as they were leaving her office. The other eyewitness even told Days-Chapman that she (the eyewitness) would notify DCP&P, but that Days-Chapman insisted that she would make the notification. Later that evening, Days-Chapman met with the juvenile's parents at the parents' house and informed them that the juvenile disclosed to school staff that the juvenile was being abused by them. DCP&P confirmed that there was no disclosure reported to them regarding the abuse of the juvenile from Days-Chapman or any other member of the staff from Atlantic City High School. This incident was investigated by the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office's Special Victims Unit and the Professional Standards and Accountability Unit.
