
Wildwood, NJ, Man Killed in Route 47 Crash Sunday Morning
A man from Wildwood was killed in a crash on Route 47 in Cape May County early Sunday morning.
Vehicle Strikes Tree in Goshen
The Middle Township Police Department says that at about 6:00, their officers were called to Route 47 in Goshen for a report of an accident with entrapment.
A preliminary investigation determined that a Toyota Camry was traveling northbound on the highway when it went out of control and struck a tree.
The driver, 52-year-old Javier Ayala of Wildwood, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 52-year-old female passenger was extricated from the vehicle and taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center-Mainland for further treatment.
Route 47 was closed for about four hours while the scene was cleared.
The accident is still being investigated by the Middle Township Police Department's Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information is asked to call (609) 465-8700.
Assisting officers at the scene were the Cape May County Prosecutor's Office, the Goshen and Cape May Court House Fire Departments, the New Jersey Department of Transportation, and AtlantiCare Emergency Medical Services.
