The Atlantic City, New Jersey Police Department has done a wonderful thing.

In a beautiful gesture, the Atlantic City Police Department and the City of Atlantic City have posthumously named Ryan Blatstein an Honorary Atlantic City Police Officer.

Ryan Blatstein is the son of Showboat Atlantic City owner Bart Blatstein.

During his lifetime, Ryan Blatstein was was a staunch supporter and defender of law enforcement in general, and, in Atlantic City in particular.

"He would have been so honored," said Tower CEO and Showboat owner Bart Blatstein. Ryan loved everything about law enforcement. He was always standing up for and beside the men and women of the ACPD and police departments across the country, that was his goal-to keep officers and those they serve safe. He consistently volunteered his time and raised money for law enforcement charities such as the Behind the Badge Foundation, which honors and aids officers who have died or suffered serious injury in the line of duty. Ryan's support of the law was unwavering,” said Bart Blatstein.

This recognition for Ryan Blatstein was also very important to Atlantic City Police Chief James Sarkos:

"Take away a lesson from Ryan," said Sarkos. "Live every day to the fullest, support your community and help make this a better world."

This high honor was presented to Blatstein (yesterday) at The Showboat Atlantic City.
