Atlantic City, NJ, Councilman & Antisemitic Social Media Posts
The newly appointed Atlantic City, New Jersey Councilman, Mohammed Mamun Haq is off to a very rocky start.
Haq was recently appointed to the Atlantic City Council 5th Ward vacancy that was created when former Councilman Muhammad 'Anjum’ Zia was removed from office.
At a trial, New Jersey Superior Court Judge Michael Blee removed Zia from his elective office after Blee determined that Zia does not live in Atlantic City.
At his first Atlantic City Council meeting, Haq was the deciding vote to allow for powerful electrical cables to be buried throughout parts of Atlantic City.
The 5th Ward residents in Atlantic City have been vocal in their opposition to the offshore wind project.
Atlantic City Councilman George Tibbitt has also been very vocal in his opposition.
During a recent WPG Talk Radio 95.5 on-air interview, Tibbitt expressed his concerns, stating that “there are reports about the possibility of children contracting leukemia as a result of powerful electrical power lines,” said Tibbitt.
In the same live interview, Tibbitt ripped Haq for “voting against the wishes of the 5th Ward residents,” said Tibbitt.
Tibbitt has also raised the issue of Haq and certain posts that are on Haq’s social media Facebook page. Tibbitt believes that “they are blatantly antisemitic in nature.”
Here are several of Haq’s Facebook posts. They are still posted there as we publish this report.
Tibbitt is not holding back.
This selected radical councilman, Mohamad Haq’s behavior does not represent the good Muslim community in Atlantic City. It's sad that with the anniversary of the cowardly terrorist attacks on innocent babies, children, women and seniors … as well as civilian adults is fast approaching. This councilman’s disturbing beliefs, that he published on his social media account towards innocent Israeli civilians cannot be accepted or tolerated by the good Muslims of Atlantic County, Atlantic City, along with all decent people of good faith. This individual (Haq) should not be on city council or any other government positions representing constituents. Let’s see if Councilman Randolph and Shabazz feel as outraged at this behavior as they were at the citizen that used the City Seal on a report he prepared for the city of Atlantic City about cancer causing cables, said Tibbitt.
Randolph and Shabazz led an effort to publicly censure Tibbitt for a comment that he made about Marty Small on the “Hurley in the Morning” program.
We’ll be watching to see if they have a similar sense of outrage regarding antisemitism.
