The Mainland Mustangs boys' basketball program has a new all-time leading scorer.

Somers Point native Cohen Cook became the scorer all-time leading scorer during the team's 51-37 playoff win over Delsea to advance to the South Jersey Group III semifinals.

Cook scored on a layup with 5:11 left in the first quarter of the game to score his 1,753rd point in a Mainland uniform, passing Joseph “Skip” Castaldi's 1,752 which was set in 1965.

He scored 10 points in the win.

Cook, who is a three-sport star at the Linwood school, was greeted by Castaldi, family, and friends on the court.

The senior has had a tremendous career on the basketball floor, football field, and baseball diamond.  He was a huge part of the football team's 14-0 season, which ended with a State Championship as a standout on both offense and defense. On the baseball team, he has been one of the team's top pitchers and outfielders and will be a part of the Mustangs baseball team again this spring.

Cook will go down as one of the most accomplished three-sport athletes in Mainland history and is heading to the University of New Hampshire to play football in the fall.
