Phillies’ Kyle Schwarber to Appear on ESPN’s ‘College GameDay’
The Philadelphia Phillies season may be done, but Kyle Schwarber will still be in action this Saturday as the ESPN "College GameDay's" guest picker for his alma mater, Indiana's game against Washington.
"Can't wait to be the celebrity guest picker for College football GameDay. It's going to be exciting, it's going to be fun, Schwarber said in a social media video. "Go Hoosiers".
Schwarber played collegiately at the University of Indiana and is the highest-drafted Hoosiers player ever, going fourth overall in the 2014 MLB Draft by the Chicago Cubs.
While at Indiana Schwarber was a Two-time First-Team All-American as a catcher.
"GameDay" will be on hand in Bloomington, Indiana for just the second time ever, with Rece Davis, Pat McAfee, Nick Saban, Desmond Howard, Lee Corso, "Stanford" Steve Coughlin, and Kirk Herbstreit breaking down all the games and turning to Schwarber to pick all the big games of the day at the end of the show.
Schwarber signed with the Philadelphia Phillies before the 2022 season, and immediately made an impact, helping the team make it all the way to the World Series, hitting a league-leading 46 home runs. He followed that up with a 47-home run season and hit another 38 in 2024.
Schwarber has one more season left on the original four-year, $79 million contract he signed in 2022.
