2025 Battle At The Beach: Millville Vs. Rancocas Valley Football Faceoff
The 2025 Battle at the Beach High School football event is taking shape with the first game of the event being announced on Thursday.
A pair of top-five teams will feature Millville and Rancocas Valley facing off at Ocean City High School on Thursday, August 28.
Last year's event played one day at Ocean City High School and two days at Egg Habor Township High School, and features some of the top high school football programs both from New Jersey and beyond.
Millville went 10-3 in 2024, losing 13-7 to Winslow in the Central Jersey Group IV semifinals. The Thunderbolts will need to replace star wide receiver Lotzeir Brooks, who had over 1,200 yards and scored 16 touchdowns and is heading to Alabama in the fall.
He will go down as one of the best wide receivers in the state's history, with 4,615 yards and 67 touchdowns in his four seasons.
They will also need to replace their top running back Jamal Wallace. Quarterback Robert O'Connor returns for his junior season after throwing for 2,304 yards and 26 touchdowns as a sophomore.
Wallace will have plenty of targets to throw to with a pair of juniors Jaden Days and Reginald Holey returning at wide receiver. Aiden Dawkins returns at running back for Millville.
Rancocas Valley went 9-3 last season, falling in the South Jersey Group V Final to Toms River North.
They return quarterback Sayvien Adams, who was also their top rusher. Running back Jameer Bellamy also returns. The team must replace their top three wide receivers, Brody Deiter, Devin Duana, and Montre Wilson.
David Ogunsola, who had nine sacks and 92 tackles as a sophomore last year returns for his junior season.
