Chef From South Jersey Can Win $250K on ‘Hell’s Kitchen’ Finale

Kyle Timpson's final step in his quest to win Hell's Kitchen: Head Chefs Only airs this Thursday, Feb 6 at 8 pm on Fox TV.

Timpson advanced to the final two last week for a chance to win the grand prize of $250,000 and the head chef's job at the Hell's Kitchen restaurant at Foxwood Casino in Connecticut.

Kyle is a Dennis Township native who attended Middle Township High School, Cape May Tech, and the Academy of Culinary Arts at Atlantic Cape Community College.

Timpson, 30, worked in the local kitchens at Tony's Beef in Galloway, Beach Plum Farm in Cape May, and Cold Spring Grange in Cold Spring Village.

He then moved to Philadelphia, where he was a part of some of the city's best restaurants, including the Moshulu, the Four Seasons, and Steak Italian Nightlife, a.k.a., SIN.

Standing in between Timpson and victory is Hannah Flora, an executive sous chef at the Addison Reserve Country Club in Delray Beach, FL.

Timpson was first in points with 48 during last week's final 3 round, followed by Flora with 46

Flora's New York strip steak scored a perfect 10 in the final beef course, while Kyle scored a 9 for his grilled ribeye with succotash and sweet and sour jam.

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay acts as a mentor to a group of chefs on Hell's Kitchen, which showcases Ramsay's culinary perfectionism and infamous short temper.

Of course, Gordan Ramsey also has a Hell's Kitchen restaurant at Caesar's Atlantic City.

Earlier in the season's competition, Kyle Timpson told the Philadelphia Inquirer he thinks he can beat the odds and win Season 23.

The show “really is like that expression: life is all about what you make it,” Timpson said. Though “some people went to the CIA [Culinary Institute of America] and I went to a community college, it really is all about what you make of it and the opportunities.”
